Definition and Application of Methyl Tetrahydro Phthalic Anhydride

2022-06-02

Ⅰ. Methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride definition

Using maleic anhydride to synthesize with two different diene monomers respectively, two kinds of methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride with different structures can be obtained, including 4-methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride and 3-methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride.

Methyl tetrahydro phthalic Anhydride is a solid acid anhydride and its melting point is 65°C and 63°C, which is rarely used alone. After catalytic isomerization, an isomerized liquid mixture can be obtained. The liquid MeTHPA of methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride is a mixture of different isomers, and the composition ratio of the isomers of products from different manufacturers is different.

Ⅱ. Methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride use

Because the cured epoxy resin has better electrical insulation properties, mechanical strength, heat resistance and other comprehensive properties, and the price is relatively cheap, methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride has a wide range of uses.

The methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride use is wide. Methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride is mainly used in the impregnation of generators and locomotive motor coils, the casting of insulators, insulating bushings, transformers, and transformers, and the potting of TV power transformers to make methyl tetrahydro phthalic anhydride. Formic anhydride has become the most common new type of liquid anhydride.

In the United States, it is also used as monofilament winding to form FRP for the manufacture of crude oil pipes, irrigation pipes, weapons and aerospace components.
